thans a lot rajat for being so supportive.
i happened to read some bits of ur marathon story and I am truly inspiried. It felt like some of my doubted feeling found their resonance. Now I know that no distance is big distance for running. I have always loved running and I have had very regretful 6 months when I cudn;t run regularly. But at the same time I have been quite regular on the paddling machine and have reached to a distance of 13 km in 1 hr.
But running is where my heart is. so i want to pick up on it now. I am in bangalore so cannot take part in ADHM. Anyways, bangalore has it;s share of half marathons in plenty so in a way it is gud for me if i can be ready for the next bangalore half marathon. I have gone through some calculation about running/walking program. But I think it is quite generic so is it possible to get some more personal advise on some of the following points:
1. i can run continously for about 20 mins at 8km/hr without any breathlessnes and definitely i can push myself for more. So how long should i run before taking a walk break.
2. If i am running at 8, what shohuld be the ideal walk speed . to me 5 - 5.5 is relaxed walking. duration of the break i guess depends how long it takes for me to recover and feel like resume running. still is there any recommended min - max walk break time.
3. since i have never followed run - walk - run regimen so please advice on what should be the duration of the complete session during one complete RUN. Is it a good idea to fix the distance or should i follow the time. Personally i feel distance covered is much more of prized achievement:)
thanks for your time!
