Romel has some good points but I disagree with him that 'cramps are usually because of shoes'. There can be several reasons. In your case it seems to be just not being used to running.
I would need to know more about your running history before commenting any further. Location of your cramps, eg. only in calf, thigh, out side of the thigh etc.

Mostly these cramps happen because of shoes. Before you start running few things you must checkout for:
• You are using proper sports shoe
• Shoes are enough comfortable and fit for your feet
• Gradually increase running distance
• Start practicing on a grass covered field
• Lastly enjoy running
