Srinagar: J&K police joined forces with White Globe NGO to organize a girls’ marathon on Saturday. The marathon- ‘Kuwat-ul-Nisa’ was set-up to spread awareness against cyber-crimes and drug abuse in our society.
Around 800 girls from various parts of the state, came together to take part in the marathon. The run started at the Duck Park, the retreating point being the Nishant Garden.
The guests of honor included Nighat Aman SSP Security Secretariat, SP Hazratbal Irshad Hussain Rather, Dy Mayor Parvaiz Qadri, famous singers Irfan and Bilal.
The marathon was concluded by a prize distribution ceremony for the winners, and an appreciation speech by SP Hazratbal for the girls and their perseverance to stand up against the evils of the society till the end of the marathon.
The NGO members expressed their gratitude towards the J&K police and the participants for their overwhelming support in the execution of a megahit marathon.
