Boston Marathon winner Des Linden is formally joining the domain of ultramarathoning; she has stated that she will seek to smash the 50K world record in April. She will be running at a discrete location and will attempt to break Aly Dixon‘s record of 3:07:20, which happened around two years ago.
A few months ago, Linden urged runners to take on a challenge she named Run Destober, in which every day, runners ran the number of kilometers (or miles) that matched the given date. As an instance, on Oct 1, the participants ran 1k, and on Oct 31 they ran 31K. While this was an amazing solution to keep the running community interested, it also helped her improve her mileage significantly.
