A 54-year-old man participating in 5 km category, ‘Run Bhopal Run’ marathon died during the race in Madhya Pradesh. Padam Kudesia was rushed to a nearby hospital were the doctors declared him brought dead. The deceased is believed to have died of a heart attack.
However, Padam’s brother Sanjay Kudesia has accused the organisers of the race marathon of negligence. According to Sanjay Kudesia, before participating in the marathon, the organisers did not conduct a medical test of the participants. He also alleged that despite ample amount of government ambulance services and ambulances of private hospitals at the marathon site, his brother was taken to the hospital by a police jeep. Sanjay Kudesia told India Today TV “If paramedic staff had given treatment to my brother in time, he might have survived,”
The body of the deceased will be kept and cremated after the arrival of his daughter from Washington, added the victim’s brother.
