Pain in the outer left part of left knee

Hi! I have been a regular mid distance runner for a number of years now. I regularly run about 6K 5-6 6times a week. As part of my traing for the ADHM, I have been doing much more lately.

I run on hard surface and have never had any problems with my knees/ankles etc till now.

Last sunday, I ran a 21k run at Nehru park which has some pretty elevated portions. Finished the run in 1hr:55 min. After that run, apart for having sore calf muscles which became ok in a few days, I for the first time had sharp pain in front left part of my left knee. It became ok in the next few days as I gave myself a break for a week. When I went again for a run on Monday, the knee was perfectly fine for the first 3-4 km. But then the pain resurfaced. I have been using a ice pack on the area. I have no problem or discomforft in normal activities but the discomfort is there when I drive ( repeated pressing of the clutch) and climbing stairs.

Please advice.

you will need to see someone in person. On-line advice will not be worth anything.
