Hi friends,

I guess we people who are running second time or more... are not worried about stamina or worries regarding to complete the run itself.

I think we people are more concentrated in performing well and improve our past timing,

mine last year was 1:57 minutes,

Plz discuss your stategy .

Lots of cheer for evverybody out there preparing for Airtel run(21,7,3.5 kms)

Regards

Amit

hey,

i am the second time runner with the last time of 2.06 minutes( after 45 days practice) i got chance to run with "Arun bhardwaJ" ( ultra martahno runner who did 200km in 24 hours ).

He suggest the technique of walk & run ...after 10km you walk for 500 metre it gives you enough energy to improve your speed timing.

cheers

see you @ race

Big guys !!! my last run for 2:45 ... 2 - 3 years ago. dont run at all otherwise. am trying to complete within 3 hours this time .... not enough practice .... have run just 5 times this month. done max 11 km .

Unless you are already a regular runner .. i wont reccommend the walk and run and a break after 10. it risks the muscles freezing into walking zone and knees getting locked. thereafter resuming n completing for another 11 km ... may not be easy.

Hi Guys,

I am also a second time runner of the marathon. Last tim in ADHM 2008, I completed in 2 hrs 45 min. I ran and walked. I had no practice for the preceding four months due to a corn injury in my left sole. However, This time I am in form. I ahve done the route minus 3 km once and done 22 kms in Nehru park. I am clocking approx 2hrs 04 min or so. I want to push it to less than 2 hrs on the D-day. My advice to people who have not enough practice is that they should not stop running whatsoever happens. You can slow down to less than walking pace but continue to run. The moment you stop, your musles will freeze and youll start getting cramps. Maintain the rythm of running. The whole thing is a mind game and will power related. But yes, you should be medically fit to do such an exercise.

Wishing you all the very best.

Hoping to finish in less than 2 hrs this time.

Ciao.

Naveen

hey

maintaining a relatively slow pace for first 5 kms in the key ( thats what i experienced some days back)

i do this -

0- 5km -> slow - try 1km in 5.5-6.5 mins

5km - 10km -> increase speed -try for1 km in 5 mins

10km -16-17km -> just keep the pace - at around 5 - 5.5 mins per km

remaining - just think of the joy to finish - u will get a good pace authomaticlly

this will help u complete in 1hr 45odd mins
